1st Day of School for Mckenna

Mckenna starts her very first day of school today. I'm excited for her. So far she is anxious but we will see what happens when she gets to her new kindergarten class. She has the afternoon class. There is one boy from her daycare that is in her class.

She will be going to before and after school care on the school grounds. The facilities seem pretty nice and it looked like the kids that were there were enjoying themselves.

Daddy's Little Nurse

Yesterday morning I took Mckenna to her gymnastics class and as the class progressed I started to feel sick. My body was beginning to ache. By the end of class all I wanted to do was go home and lay on the couch. As it turned out Tiya was in Vegas with her step-sister so I just had Devyn and Mckenna with me. Michele (my sister) came out for a little bit to make me some soup and clean up a little. She took Devyn back home with her and left Mckenna with me. Before Michele left Mckenna had fallen asleep on the living room floor so Michele covered her up with a blanket and I fell asleep on the couch.

In the middle of the night Mckenna woke up, walked over to the couch, asked if I was OK and wanted to know if I needed anything. I told her thank you, that I was OK and to lay back down. She said that she was going to lay next to me so she pulled her blanket and pillow over next to me on the floor and fell back to sleep.

The next day she was Daddy's little nurse. She asked me all day long if I wanted any water or ice or juice and when my cups were empty she filled them anyway. At one point she disapeared into the bathroom and brought out a wet hand towel that she had soaked under cold water. She said, "Daddy, you are burning up! You need to put this on your forhead. It will make you feel better." So I did as the nurse told me. Of course she didn't wring out the towel very well, but it did make me feel better- and soak my pillow. She was so cute being so concerned about Daddy.
